Miss Kya Sands 2015

A project whereby girls from the informal settlements get to be a part of a pageant and their lives will be transformed as they are inspired by:

  • Role models - they can make it, and so can I.
  • Success stories motivate people to follow in the footsteps and follow the dos and don’ts during the pageant journey.
  • Affirmation - positive stories create positive mindset and they are definitely suggestive.
  • Hope – they give those who are from vulnerable backgrounds the sense of “I can dream so I can be it”.

'Singing Under the African Sky' Singing Competition: 2015

Experience this journey with us. Let's join hands and music to bridge the divides.

“Singing under the African Sky” is an educational program that will identify, support, uplift, and reward the talents of young vocal performers across southern Africa, by annually organizing a competitive forum in which artists from ages five years and upwards may present their talent in the performance of: Contemporary, Classical, Crossover, African Traditional, African Urban, and Afrikaans genres inclusive of choiral.  The competition will outreach to all communities and will be organized on a fiscally responsible basis by the June Kraus International Academy for Performing Arts and Daily Bread Org.

The overarching objective of Mandela Day is to inspire individuals to take action to help change the world for the better, and in doing so build a global movement for good. Ultimately it seeks to empower communities everywhere. “Take Action; Inspire Change; Make Every Day a Mandela Day.”

As you know Mandela Day has grown over the past few years and this year many companies and individuals are looking for ways to be able to take part and do their 67 minutes.  Daily Bread have a number of opportunities available and I thought I would let you know what we are planning,  in case you may be looking for ways for your staff to get involved.

The projects can be customized to fit in with your needs as well.
